NSW residents must enrol in the NSW Food Safety Supervisor course. This course is designed to meet the special requirements of the NSW Food Authority.

Suitable for every industry
Food Safety Supervisor qualifications in Australia are industry specific. The Australian Institute of Food Safety are pleased to offer training to meet all industry needs.
Retail & Hospitality
The Food Safety Supervisor training for Retail & Hospitality is formed from training units from the nationally accredited Tourism, Hospitality and Events training package (SIT07).
It is designed for food workers in the retail sector (supermarkets, delicatessens, convenience stores etc.) as well as hospitality organisations (restaurants, cafes, hotels, takeaways, caterers). It is also suitable for those who work at temporary sites such as events and conferences venues, and also for tour operators and market stall owners who prepare or serve food on location.
The Units of Competency delivered by this training are:
- SITXOHS002A Follow workplace hygiene procedures
- SITXFSA001A Implement food safety procedures
Transport & Distribution
The Food Safety Supervisor training for Training & Distribution is based on the same nationally accredited training units as for the Retail & Hospitality sectors.
It is suitable for workers who are responsible for handling, storing, preparing or moving food in organisations that offer bulk distribution, warehousing or water carrying facilities. It also applies to businesses that do not prepare food, but who handle or store food as part of their everyday business.
The Units of Competency delivered by this training are:

- SITXFSA001A Implement food safety procedures
Health & Community Services
The Food Safety Supervisor training for Health & Community Services is formed from training units from the nationally accredited Health training package (HLT07).
It is designed for workers who prepare or sell food for consumption by vulnerable persons. It is suitable for food handlers who work for organisations that provide services such as hospital catering, meals on wheels, nursing home catering and child care services.
The Units of Competency delivered by this training are:
Food Processing
The Food Safety Supervisor training for Food Processing is formed from training units from the nationally accredited Food Processing training package (FDF10).
The Units of Competency delivered by this training are:
- FDFFS1001A Follow work procedures to maintain food safety
- FDFFS2001A Implement the food safety program and procedures
